The University of New Brunswick’s Institute of Population Health, located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Postdoctoral Fellow to join our dynamic and interdisciplinary team. This position offers the opportunity to engage in impactful, applied health research that directly informs policy and practice in New Brunswick and beyond. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Institute’s Executive Director, Dr. Jennifer Russell, and Scientific Director, Dr. Emily Richard. They will work closely with an established team of researchers and community partners on projects focused on improving health system performance and outcomes through effective knowledge translation and mobilization. The fellow will contribute to research activities that bridge evidence and action across a range of audiences, including policymakers, healthcare professionals, and the public. Responsibilities include:
1. Lead and support research and evaluation projects related to health services and health policy.
2. Develop and implement knowledge mobilization strategies tailored to diverse stakeholder groups.
3. Contribute to grant writing and project development efforts as needed.
The salary range for this Postdoctoral Fellow position is $41,000-$50,000 CAD per year, including benefits. The start date is September 1, 2025 or as soon as possible. This is a unionized contract term until August 2026, with the potential to renew for up to 3 years depending on funding availability. The position is located in Fredericton, NB, with a hybrid work arrangement within Canada potentially possible.
Eligibility / Qualification Required:
- Must be within 5 years of a PhD in health services research, health policy, epidemiology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in effective knowledge translation and mobilization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both academic and non-academic audiences.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
- Familiarity with integrated knowledge translation approaches. (Preferred)
- Experience working with government, healthcare, or community-based organizations. (Preferred)
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset, though not required. (Preferred)
- Skills in the communications field (Preferred)
