We are looking to recruit an Independence Senior Associate to join our Independence Team as part of the PwC Ireland Risk & Quality function. This role is a fantastic opportunity for professionals seeking PwC Ireland Jobs in the dynamic field of Risk & Quality Management. You’ll be part of a career in Risk Management in a dynamic team that will provide you with the opportunity to advance and foster integrity-based decision making and conduct by PwC professionals throughout our organisation, including: opportunities to interact with partners and practice teams across the firm and Independence Specialists from across the PwC Global network; wide exposure to the breadth of the firm's services and how we deliver these services; and development of technical knowledge of a key area of firm regulatory risk.
The PwC Ireland Independence Team is part of the firm’s Risk & Quality group within Business Enablement Solutions (BES) that provides critical business support to the firm in a complex and changing regulatory environment. This team is central to ensuring compliance with various regulatory frameworks, making it a critical area for Compliance Careers and Regulatory Affairs Jobs within a leading professional services firm.

Eligibility / Qualification Required:

Responsibilities:

  • Participation in the various Independence support systems, processes and activities.
  • Overseeing / liaising with Acceleration Centres on certain Independence Assessment activities to manage quality, completeness, and timely delivery of Assessments.
  • Providing Independence advice to partners, staff and engagement teams across the firm and network firms.
  • Handling consultations and performing analysis on Independence matters including the permissibility of certain non-assurance services, financial and /or business relationships.
  • Developing or updating guidance on Independence related matters.
  • Developing or updating Independence training material, and delivery of Independence training.
  • Developing communication material on Independence such as Independence bulletins.
  • Delivery of ad hoc Independence projects.
  • Performing reviews of partner, staff and engagement team compliance with Independence policy.
  • Participation in firm and network quality assurance activities.
  • Coaching and mentoring of junior colleagues to promote knowledge sharing.
  • Involvement with the continued innovation and development of Independence processes and PwC Global initiatives.

Experiences and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in professional services in audit, risk or compliance type role.
  • Existing independence knowledge including external independence regulations and requirements (e.g., SEC, IESBA, IAASA or UK FRC Ethical Standard) would be preferrable but not required as you will be provided with the necessary training and support.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of various entity structures.
  • Applying policy / regulatory requirements and guidance to assess permissibility of relationships for independence purposes, leveraging problem solving know-how, and developing and offering conclusions.
  • Exhibiting strong oral and written business communication skills leveraged to probe for information, and communicate with impact and empathy.
  • Strong client service focus in dealing with partners and staff at all levels and areas of the firm.
  • Demonstrating strong attention to detail and the ability to collect, analyse, connect and structure the information received, while consistently applying professional skepticism to evaluate and verify information thoroughly.
  • Ability to work in a multitasked, fast-paced and changing environment, and work independently with various stakeholders and adapt to organisational changes.
  • Strong people and project management skills, monitoring team level workload in different areas ensuring meeting deadlines consistently.
