Our team at PwC Ireland is the leading specialist provider of customs, excise and international trade expertise in the Irish market. Our clients cover a very broad range of sectors including chemical, industrial, retail, pharmaceutical, agriculture, food and beverage processing, healthcare, software and technology companies operating all over the world. This role offers an opportunity to work on the issues that impact upon global trade, such as on-going trade wars, the introduction of new free trade agreements, export licensing and sanctions. These issues affect our clients' ability to move products and services across international borders in a timely and cost efficient manner. If our clients are moving goods or providing software across an international border then our team is who they work with. We focus on ensuring that the product continues to be commercially competitive despite the ever evolving global trade environment and increases to the customs duty rate of certain products. In addition, you will work closely in supporting clients to ensure no legal or even criminal issues arise for their organisations through the export of ‘dual-use’ items. This is particularly relevant in the Irish economy for those ‘tech’ companies who export highly encrypted software.
